The best time of the season is between Christmas and New
Years.
For me it is finally time to be quiet and content at home by
the fire.
Christmas is very different now with my parents gone and
most of the family in different states.
Pog and I had a nice
day with his oldest daughter who came for the afternoon. We made pizza and had
Pog’s chocolate silk pie. My son had the flu and couldn’t come so I will spend
New Year’s Day with him.
The mountain is frosted over this morn and the wind is
fierce. It is a good day to stay by the fire quilting or working on my new
jigsaw puzzle.
Pog made cinnamon rolls yesterday so a cup of coffee and a
roll is in order for my afternoon snack!
I hope you are warm and cozy where ever you are today!
i couldnt agree more! i love all the goodwill and merriment of the season leading up to christmas, but the cozy stillness of the week after is heaven.

ReplyDeleteSounds like a perfect kind of day, we have a light dusting, but cold temps, more up on the mountains too. I loved those photos, the rolls look delicious.

Christmas here with no "little ones" is different too. The fire looks so inviting and I would love one of those cinnamon rolls! For now I will just have coffee and a caramel. I too am going to spend some time relaxing for the next few days. Enjoy yourself!
ReplyDeleteChildren are the true spirit of Christmas. I am blessed to have both my parents and a new grandbaby. How wonderful it was to once again assemble toys on Christmas Eve. I count my blessings each and every day. A wood fire, good book, cup of hot chocolate, equals a perfect day. Oh, and one of those delicious cinnamon rolls to top it off. I love the quiet of after all the hustle and bustle is over and I can really enjoy my Christmas decorations until after the Epiphany on Jan 6th.
