Back To Work

After the studio tour this past weekend and a few days rest, I am back to work.
The tour was great with the majority of visitors and sales on Saturday.
I love to meet and talk to the varied and interesting people who came to my studio.
I especially enjoyed the young people who are interested and so eager to learn.
I had one young lady who sat at a floor loom and threw a shuttle for the very first time!
Maybe she was inspired to be a future weaver and carry our tradition on.

If you live in or close to this area, the next studio tour will be December 5 thru the 7th
The holiday tour is a great time to pick up gifts for friends and family
but also a great time for that special holiday treat for you!
I already have specials planned for that tour which I will begin working on soon.

It is hard to believe that I am already making items for Fall and Christmas.
Time will fly by and be here before we know it so I am planning way ahead of time.
I have a few UFO’s lying around, one of which was this little stack of pumpkins.

There are a lot more UFO’s to finish in between working on the planned projects
and of course there is always room for inspiration too!

A big Thank You to all for a wonderful tour weekend!

The Day After

The tour is over.
I had a successful weekend with lots of friends, new and repeat customers visiting.
We missed the worst of the weather in the mountains with little to no ice on Sunday
but most people came on Saturday.
I did have a few brave souls who ventured out on Sunday to take home a couple of rugs,
 which was great.

To say that I am now very tired is an understatement.
I am exhausted! I only have one special bird order to finish up and
then I can take a break for the rest of the year.
The house was decorated and the tree put up the weekend after Thanksgiving so I would not have to deal with it now. It was a lot of work to get the house and studio ready for the holidays and the tour at the same time but now I am glad it is done.
I am so grateful for a patient, helpful and understanding husband
who supports me in every way possible.
It is now time for both of us to sit back and enjoy Christmas!

I do intend to start some new projects soon because the tour always inspires me.
Before the tour I become tired and don’t want to make or weave anything else
but now that it is over I am excited to get started again.
The difference is now I get to make what I want to and not what I have to,
at least for a little while, which will be a nice break.

Pog and I both were so busy that we really didn't take many photos
but here are a few of the ones we did take of the studio and the work.
There are a lot of empty spaces now which is great!!

Most of the rugs found new homes.

Star of Bethlehem Dish Towels

Snowmen, ornaments, more dishtowels and mug rugs.

There were lots of wooly ornaments.
I hope everyone was safe, warm and snug at home during
all the terrible weather in the country these past few days.
I am looking forward now to snowy days at home stitching, weaving
and maybe even a jigsaw puzzle or two!

Break Time

The tour was disappointing as far as the number of visitors.
It was about 1/3 the normal amount.

Dish towels and a runner.

Angel Tree topper.

Rugs

I still had some good sales, mostly rugs, dish towels and mug rugs.
Several repeat visitors came to see me which was great!

I am taking a break from the studio and having a mother/daughter week.
I'll have lots more pictures then including my mystery guys which I have finished.

See you next week!

End of Day Two

So far the tour has been a little slow with fewer people than expected,
 but still some good sales.

The pumpkin pin cushion on the right with a kitty on top,
sold today but still plenty more goodies.

Sunday the studio is open from 10 to 6.
Come on out if you can!!
